It’s that time of year again, folks! The 2025 Cookies for Corrections drive is wrapping up. And according to my favorite radio host, Mark Renick, the goal this year is to hand-deliver holiday warmth and cookies to at least 6,000 Idaho prisoners. It’s a logistical feat that rivals nearly everything the Romans accomplished! The cut-off date for contributions is December 8th, and there are multiple Treasure Valley locations where you can drop off store-bought cookies or leave funds to fuel the cause. I donated to the cookie project. I wouldn’t have known about it if you hadn’t told us.
Thank you so much, Kathy! It’s absolutely amazing to watch people organize around this effort. Last year the Pillars mentor group joined Cookies for Corrections volunteers to pass out cookies at ISCI. My case manager at the time, now our deputy warden, asked me to speak to one of the volunteer groups that he took on a tour of the prison chapel. I can’t imagine I’ll ever forget this extremely positive and memorable experience.
